A short intro

Hello, I am Arijit. Perhaps you will find this name familiar. Born in a loving Bengali family in Calcutta, I spent my childhood with my parents, my sister, my grandmother, and my friends. I did my schooling in St. Lawrence High School, Calcutta and aspired for engineering studies. If you can recall someone with this name, a graduate from Bengal Engineering College, Sibpur, in Computer Science and Technology in 1995, and a post graduate from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, in Computer Science and Engineering in 1997, then it's me !!! Can you remember me ?

I got married to my college-mate Sumana in 1998 and now we have a baby boy. He was born on February 14th, 2002 and his name is Ritobhash. At home he is called Rik. He is a little version of Denis the Menace, but we enjoy all the moments we spend with him.

After completing my post graduation, I joined Tata Consultancy Services, New Delhi, India in April 1997 and worked there for around four years, and then I moved to USA in December 2000, and was working in Verizon(formerly Bell Atlantic). In May 2002, I joined University of Newcastle, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, as a Research Associate in the myGrid and OGSA-DAI Distributed Query Processor Project. I am also doing my PhD in Grid Computing and Distributed Systems in the University of Newcastle under Prof. Paul Watson.
